 42. Prairie Style House

700 E. Burlington Ave (built 1904)

An example of a Prairie-style stucco box, it has the usual overhanging wide hipped roof.  The walls are divided into two horizontal zones by a band at the walls' midpoint.

Somewhat similar houses were built at 104 S. Highland, 402 S. Main, and 405 W. Merrill Ave.  Note that the small roof over the front door is different on each house.

Roof brackets are missing from this house.
